From the Pastor's Heart

Usually celebrated on November 1, but in many churches it is celebrated on the first Sunday in November. This is a time to remember and celebrate the lives of persons who have gone on to heaven. We remember by name those persons in our congregation who have passed in the last year.

Organ and Tissue Donor Sunday is a time when we share our understanding that these donations “are acts of charity, agape love, and self-sacrifice” that should always be done “in an environment of respect for the deceased and living donors.” (Social Principles ¶ 162 W)

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is a time when we pray in a special way for Christians who live in countries where they are persecuted for their faith in Christ, sometimes even being killed if their secret faith is found out.

“A celebration of the coming reign of Jesus Christ and the completion of creation.” (United Methodist Book of Worship) A time to remember that this world is not all there is, and that the best is yet to come!
